Meet Our Employee of the Year 2025!

Derrick Ayesigye has been named RENU’s Employee of the Year 2025 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development and delivery of key systems that support RENU’s operations and member services.

Derrick played a central role in the development and rollout of several critical platforms, including the Bulk SMS Service Portal and the Uganda ORCID Hub. Through this work, he has helped strengthen communication for member institutions and improve how researchers and institutions manage and verify research information nationwide.

He has also been a trusted technical resource during ORCID awareness and training engagements, supporting institutions to better understand and adopt ORCID services, while building long-term capacity within the RENU community.

Internally, Derrick has contributed significantly to improving RENU’s systems and processes. From automating the Balanced Scorecard system to supporting the development of the Finance Operations System, his work has improved efficiency, reporting, and alignment with RENU’s strategic goals. He continues to play a key role in maintaining reliable services for members, including web hosting support and enhancements to RENU’s digital payment solutions.

This recognition reflects Derrick’s consistency, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering solutions that make a real impact for RENU and its community.
