Our Impact
Our Impact Towards SDGs
With a drive towards solving institutional problems, we align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Join us as we build this transformative legacy. Together, we're turning aspirations into actions and building a more sustainable and inclusive future for all.
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
We offer tailor-made solutions to various health facilities and research centers to facilitate telemedicine, research, and clinical operations to enable access to safe and affordable medicines and vaccines for all.
SDG 4: Quality Education
We enable digital transformation in education through innovation. Our solutions such as eduroam, Zero-rated Mobile Access, customized and affordable internet connectivity, solar-powered Internet routers, web conferencing services, and e-learning management systems have continued to effectively impact the quality of education through increased collaboration.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
We promote diversity and strive to empower both men and women to engage fully in all roles, including leadership. Deliberate actions have also been made to encourage more women to participate in various aspects. Consequently, more than half of the RENU Management team are women, marking a shift from a predominantly male leadership. Similar progress is evident in the technical team, fostering greater gender balance.
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Our solar-powered Internet router promotes the consumption of solar energy, a sustainable energy that reduces the effects of climate change hence making the solar-powered routers the most environmentally friendly technology of the current times.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
Through our robust backbone infrastructure, investment in LoRaWAN gateways, metro eduroam, and various innovations and solutions, we have impacted positively in the space of innovation, industry, and infrastructure, locally in Uganda, in the East African region, and the entire continent.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
We actively collaborate with national and international partners, including other National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), academic institutions, and industry stakeholders to foster knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the sharing of best practices, aligning to deliver on the sustainable development goals
