Kampala, Uganda — 2nd February 2026
For the second year running, Sanyu Irene Namutebi has been voted by her colleagues as RENU’s Manager of the Year, becoming the first staff member in RENU’s history to receive this prestigious recognition for two years.

As Head of the People and Culture Department, Sanyu is the heartbeat behind RENU’s THRIVE working environment. She does not just shape policies; she shapes experiences. Through her steady leadership, thoughtful conversations, and intentional actions, she led RENU’s culture transformation journey, fostering a workplace where people feel heard, valued, and supported. Her commitment to inclusivity and people-centred leadership ensures that RENU’s values are not just statements on paper, but principles lived and felt every day across the organisation.
She has also been instrumental in the launch of the RENU Leadership Academy, creating a structured pathway for leadership development and empowering staff at all levels to grow, lead, and take ownership of RENU’s mission.
During periods of rapid organisational growth, Sanyu guided RENU through change with care and purpose. She led recruitment thoughtfully, ensuring new team members were not only skilled but aligned with RENU’s culture, and supported their smooth integration into the organisation. Through strengthened training and engagement initiatives, and her open and approachable leadership style, including Safe Harbour sessions that provide dedicated one on one time for staff to share concerns, seek guidance, and feel supported, she has built deep trust across the organisation and created an environment where people can grow and thrive.
Winning this award again reflects not just her results, but the lasting impact she has made on RENU’s culture, its people, and its future.
Congratulations once again, Sanyu! 🥳🎉
