LoRaWAN
Why LoRaWAN?
The service is for the benefit of researchers who work with embedded systems or IoT projects.
Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded system solutions deployed in remote areas have traditionally been connected to the Internet through the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) networks, provided by telecommunications companies through the use of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards.
Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) connectivity is a wireless communication technology that allows LoRa-capable devices to communicate over large distances with minimal battery and bandwidth usage, which eases the burden as no GSM SIM cards are required.
LoRaWAN Impact
RENU facilitates the Internet of Things (IoT) research and collaboration by providing LoRaWAN gateways and cloud space and tools to graphically visualise data.
